Divinely You

As you seek to discover the depth of the divine nature that lies within you, you will begin to further magnify your precious gift.

Quote by Rosemary M. Wixom reads, "“Because you are His child, He knows who you can become. . . . He relishes your potential."

You might recognize the truths about your divinity in the Primary song “I Am a Child of God.” But it’s not enough just to know these truths. In a general conference talk, “Discovering the Divinity Within,” Sister Rosemary M. Wixom challenges us to take that Primary song to the next level: “Now it is time to take that beloved phrase ‘I am a child of God’ and add the words ‘Therefore, what?’”

Pray Often

Once you understand that you are a child of God, you will go to your Heavenly Father often in prayer. “Because you are His child, He knows who you can become. . . . He relishes your potential.” Heavenly Father wants you to succeed, and he will answer your prayers and guide you to become the best you can be and fulfill your divine nature.

Serve Others

You will come to realize that as his child, “you not only need Him, but He also needs you.” Heavenly Father needs you to serve others and to help build his kingdom on the earth.

Become Like God

As God’s child, you have the potential to become like him. “We identify with our divine nature as we feel and give the love of our Father in Heaven.” Strive to become more like your Heavenly Father by loving others as he loves them.

Understanding your identity as a child of God will help motivate you to behave differently and become a better person.
